One in three people track their health and fitness

A recent survey by GfK shows that tracking is becoming an ordinary everyday activity for many of us. Survey conducted in 16 countries and with over 20,000 consumers shows, that trackers desire to maintain or improve physical condition as well as motivate themselves to exercise are the two most popular motivations.

But the survey shows an interesting phenomenon too: tracking is seen as a means of helping keep up a normal healthy way of life. We seem to be interested in tracking our energy levels, balancing our diet and improving sleep – simply feeling healthier and feeling better.

So far tracking is slightly more popular among men than women. Also people aged between 20-39 years are most keen on tracking health and fitness. Although younger generations also give up and lose interest more easily, they also show great potential for retailers and manufacturers.
