RemoteA Ltd is developing a SmartECG service that speeds up the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases and patient access to treatment. RemoteA and HUS, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, will be cooperating in the service’s pilot program that aims to use artificial intelligence in diagnosing cardiac patients.
At the core of the SmartECG service is an algorithm that generates a high-quality automatic analysis to help general practitioners in their diagnoses. In addition, the browser-based analytics tool makes the diagnostic work of cardiologists significantly faster. The SmartECG service was chosen by Oy Apotti Ab as one of the five most promising digital innovations, and it will be launched on the market in 2019.
In late autumn 2018, RemoteA and HUS will launch a pilot program that aims to use the SmartECG service as a platform for research use of ECG analytics and enable deep integration of artificial intelligence where the use of patient data is not limited to long-term ECG monitoring.
“Artificial intelligence enables higher quality and increases productivity. HUS is a forerunner in the development of digital healthcare in Finland. Our cooperation with RemoteA Ltd raises ECG diagnostics to a whole new level,” says Mika Laine, a specialist in cardiology at HUS.

TheSmartECG service is based on an algorithm and uses artificial intelligence. It automatically interprets ECG data, selects the most important results and supports GPs in making diagnosis and treatment decisions.
